Comedy lives in timing, performance, and trust, and our job is to protect all three. We come from the stand-up and sketch world ourselves, so we know how to collaborate with comedians, by providing them the sandbox to play in. We work hard to foster a collaborative, positively-down-to -earth environment on set or during a live performance. We meticulously refine the edit in post-production to ensure the final piece feels crisp, authentic, and memorable.
Protect the Material
We treat the bit, and the person delivering it, with the same care a director gives a script. Nothing gets cut or restructured without understanding why it worked in the first place.
Preserve the Room
Great comedy is a group performance, even when only one person is on camera. We shoot to keep the energy of the room intact, because an audience can tell when a set was filmed in a vacuum.
Timing Is Everything
A joke told a half-second early or late is a different joke. We obsess over pacing in the edit as much as we do on set, because comedy is the one genre where being almost right doesn’t count.
Funny on Screen, Not Just on Paper
Nearly two decades of comedic production has taught us the gap between what reads funny and what plays funny. We close that gap before it ever reaches your audience.
