Our friends at Austin Monthly brought us in to capture Austin Home's first-ever Design House, a "part summit, part salon, part party" that took over three floors of Paseo on Rainey Street during SXSW 2026. The goal was big: give Austin's design community a permanent, visible home base during March, and put the city's creative conversation on the world stage. 

Our job was to make sure that conversation didn't end when the doors closed. We followed the day from the 48th-floor Invitational, where design leaders traded ideas and battled it out in a back-of-the-napkin sketch competition, to the Expo's installations and the rooftop Spring Issue preview. 

The result is a recap that captures exactly what Design House set out to be: experimental, collaborative, and deeply rooted in Austin.
