Kevin Abstract, from the rap group Brockhampton, had a vision to walk on a treadmill for 10 hours in front of his childhood home. If you’re asking why, it’s complicated. By the time the first tweet was mentioned, Kevin was already walking, and the live stream had started.
Originator was brought in to produce this stunt, and let's just way it was a HELL YES from the get go. Figure out how to get a full production unit to a Corpus Cristi suburb, set up a treadmill in a yard (without telling the homeowners) and produce a cinema quality live stream from the side of the road with no power or internet? YES PLEASE.

In order to be clandestine and not ruin the surprise for Kevin, we had to figure out how to pull off essentially a live broadcast without any of the tools we are use to. So we rented a n RV and retrofitted it into a mobile broadcast studio. We got a treadmill, generators, cell tower encoders, and our best crew together and tested the hell out of it in our parking lot. This was truly live, it has to work the first time. Once we felt good about the setup, we headed to Corpus and showed set up like a flash mob.
Shot on Alexa Mini’s and a mounted Blackmagic 6K camera with anamorphic lenses, the stream looked more like a 10 hour feature, than it did a livestream. In collaboration with director Alex Mallis, we produced quite possibly the best looking live stream on the internet.

Kevin Abstract’s name and new album gained a ton of PR from media outlets, press, (yes, he trended on twitter) and most importantly, his fans. Over the entire span of the livestream, we captured the personification of what it’s like to be a rap icon, the struggle of the journey with your past always behind you, and the complexly beautiful relationship that resides between an artist and his fans. Thanks Kevin.
